Looks like Aircel wants to play the data game like Bsnl atleast for Karnataka circle the IT state of India.
Aircel has introduced two new 3G data recharge here
Rs.298 gives 5GB 3G data for 28days with extra data charge of 25p per MB.
Rs.598 gives 11GB 3G data for 28days with extra data charge of 25p per MB.
In Karnataka Aircel has been quite competitive in data plans for quite sometime and this is response to Jio 4G.
Aircel has it’s own 3G spectrum for Karanataka circle and has good coverage in Bangalore and outskirts attracting IT users of city who always have demand for cheap data. It seems Aircel Bengaluru revenue has been affected a lot because of Jio offers forcing Aircel to bring in these new better data recharge for this circle only.
In other circle like Tamil Nadu and Chennai no such offers exists as Aircel has more voice users in these circles. Voice customers are less affected by Jio offers for now as interconnection problems are making it hard business and serious voice users to port their numbers now that Jio has officially launched its services.
