Spectra erstwhile spectranet becomes second operator in India to launch gigfiber. It’s first in Delhi or North India to do so. Infact it was to launch 100mbps unlimited fiber in Delhi Ncr. another surprise which is that this 1gbps aka gigabit boradband connection is without any FUP.
Currently Spectranet gigabit fiber to the home connection is available in Delhi, Noida and Gurugram only.
Priced at Rs.1249+tax without any FUP is cheapest gigabit connection worldover. Almost equal to or less than Singapore based ftth provider which gives same 1gbps connection in 25SGD.
Spectranet is charging Rs.1000 as installation and Rs.2000 as security deposit for ONT+ dual band gigabit router.
Though customer can get waiver of installation by paying 3months advance rental.
Another free month is available on 6months advance rental.
Act broadband was first to launch gigabit broadband in Hyderbad though it was targeted more towards SOHO/SME purpose rather than home users due too steep pricing.
ACT charges Rs.5999 for 1gigabit connection that too with FUP limit of 1TB which now looks rip off in comparison to these Spectranet 1GB Broadband charges.
After Jio wireless fiasco as news pops out here & there about Jio fiber launch being near. Wireline aka fixed broadband operators all over India have tighten their belt for big bang Jio fiber launch.
