Amazon has launched fire stick with alexa voice remote control in India. Amazon Fire stick allows you to stream video from selected apps to TV by connecting it to your TV. In brief you can turn your idiot box with hdmi port to a smart TV. Fire stick needs atleast 2mbps net speed to work properly.

Priced at Rs.4000 (500cash back for prime customers) it’s little costlier in comparison to it’s US counter part where it’s priced $40/ Rs.2600. Maybe amazon got to earn more their via it’s prime subscription which costs $100/Rs/6500+ for USA in comparison to meager Rs.499/999 here in India. Kind of cross subsidy model.
Chromecast being it’s close rival is priced at Rs.3499 in India though chromecast is without remote. Also for prime customers it is same as chromecast at Rs.3499. Prime subscription is preferred if buying fire stick.
