However many people who are currently using more than 1 sim or 1GB of data per day were wondering what if one needs more data? Didn’t Jio have something for everyone. To them these diff plans would prove crucial.

A- Yes ofcourse prime members can opt for any plan as all plan are applicable for both prime and non-prime members.
Ofcourse benefits for prime members is many times.
Q: What will happen if I don’t recharge Rs.303 or miss it after recharging with Prime Membership for Rs.99?
A: Only Incoming calls/sms would work. Outgoing call/sms won’t work. Sim can expire after 90days of no chargeable usage i.e. outgoing call/sms or recharge as per TRAI rule.
Have a look at below tariff plan for Prime members only
These attractive prime plan benefits in comparison non-prime shows that Jio wants you to lock-in for one year where person doesn’t even think about porting away to other operators as it would result in customer could not return to same prime benefits back if he comes back to jio after 31st March 2017.
So for prime members even in lowest plan recharge customers opting for Rs.149 plan can enjoy 2GB data along with free calls. If he finishes 2GB data then can get additional for as low as Rs.30/GB in Rs.301 data top-up. I think Jio has hit incumbents where it hurts them the most with free voice calls as not much is left to compete here. This would bring India to rock bottom data rates along with cheapest unlimited voice combo plans.
Expecting a whole lot of people opting for Rs.149 plan for free calls. Infact 2GB is enough for many monthly data needs. Though Jio has ruined data usage habits of many people who would be feeling very hard to survive on low data plans.
Airtel’s Infinity Rs.549 plan and Vodafone Red 499 plans stand nowhere near these Rs.499 prime plans or Rs.999 non-prime plans with more 1/5th data even after giving away new 4G handset promos data.
Update: Acc. to some sources the Rs.149 plan won’t be true unlimited and would come with 1000 mins offnet(Jio to others) and unlimited onnet(Jio to Jio) calling.
Another update is that if the user didn’t recharge before the end of the Rs.303 or Rs.499 pcak then prime membership would lapse. Not sure though, last two update looks more of a rumor to me.
