Act Fibernet is fiber based broadband provider which provides FTTN(fiber to the node). Node is installed at customer premises mostly from where ethernet based cable is given to few customers from one box. Recently ACT Broadband started FTTH(Fiber to the home) to match the competition who are giving pure FTTH connection to customers.
For Act Fibernet plan of 100mbps and above(like 125mbps, 150mbps, 250mbps) one needs Router with gigabit ports else you won’t get speed above 90-95mbps. Also router should support AC wireless aka wifi 5 minimal to get optimal speeds of above 100mbps.
Further for plans above 250mbps AC1200 is minimum required. Also if you have house bigger than 2000sqft with plan above 150mbps MESH Routers is recommend.
For Gigabit plans or any plan above 500mbps speed wifi-6 routers are much needed else wifi speed would suffer.
Act Fibernet uses Cat 2 Copper pair ethernet cable for plans with speed below 50mbps and Cat 5 ethernet cable for plan speed above 50mbps. Nowadays ACT fibernet is also giving personal ONT to customers in higher speed plans
