From September 2020 Jio 4G network is available at
- Sri Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara at Mountain top (one Jio 4G tower present)
- Gobind Dham Gurudwara Stoppage (one Jio 4G tower present)
- Ghangaria village aka Govindghat Gurudwara (one Jio 4G tower is installed here + one Bsnl 2G tower also)
- Please note that having coverage doesn’t mean blanket coverage throughout the track between these sites, as mountain can limit the coverage to certain areas only.
- So mobile coverage would be on & off throughout the track.
Bsnl 2G is available only at Ghangaria Village where Gurudwara Govindghat Sahib is situated. No 3G network here. Don’t expect any internet speeds. Only voice calls and sms will work.
Vi & Airtel have zero tower and coverage in all three of these three major places of importance near Gurudwara Hemkunt Sahib. Works till Joshimath only.
Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara is situated in Chamoli district of Uttrakhand. On the way to road leading to Sri Badrinath of Chardham Yatra comes the stopover of Ghangaria(famous as Govindghat for Yatris) from which the walking trek of 13km from GovindGhat leads to Gurudwara Gobind-dham. From here a steep trek of 8km leads to Hemkunt Sahib at height of 4633m above sea level.
