Minimum Recharge required to send outgoing sms in Airtel and Vi is now Rs.150. Few months back it was increased to Rs.128. Which basically means for plan like Rs.99 pack …. outgoing sms won’t work.
Don’t know why TRAI is taking no action against these kind of uneven tariff plans. Jio too requires plan recharge but atleast it is consistent that outgoing sms will work with any recharge with base plan.
Airtel & Vi are offering all the service + talktime but not allowing outgoing sms in Rs.99 recharge plan which was previously ₹79 recharge plan.Problem here is these outgoing sms are a must for essential banking services like UPI/ mobile banking etc.
Users are forced to do higher denomination recharge just to support their banking service. And they can’t even port their no if recharged with lower denomination packs.
Indirectly its the crony marketing only where they show minimum recharge as lower than Jio on paper without offering full services.
