Airtel is reportedly offering ftth connection under franchise model with local cable operators in many tier- II & III cities. Company is reportedly providing prepaid plans only under this model.

Company is calling these under franchise model as LCO cities. Here installation and maintenance is done by LCO. While bandwidth, equipment, billing(prepaid) is done by Airtel itself. Airtel even updated its FAQs on website to show installation related charges.

LCO charges Rs.1000+18% gst for installation however these waived off for 3 months or 6 months or 12 months advance rentals.

Plans are as follows:

  • Prepaid @ 40 Mbps per month ₹499 unlimited
  • Prepaid @ 100 Mbps per month ₹799 unlimited
  • Prepaid @200 Mbps per month ₹999 unlimited
  • Prepaid @300 Mbps per month ₹1499 unlimited
  • 1Gbps is not offered under LCO plans
  • Static Ip is not available under LCO
  • Voice calls may or may not be available under LCO.

Voice call is unlimited anywhere is India except 1860 nos however not all the area have voice calling at time of launch.

Airtel is following Bsnl model of offering FTTH via LCO franchise model. Bsnl though offers it via postpaid model instead of better prepaid model by Airtel Xstream.

ONT wifi modem offered is Nokia G2425G-A however Airtel also offers Sercomm AOT-4221SR at few locations where Nokia model is getting out of stock. Check out complete list of Airtel routers available with Airtel Xstream Fiber service.
