Airtel is reportedly offering ftth connection under franchise model with local cable operators in many tier- II & III cities. Company is reportedly providing prepaid plans only under this model.
Company is calling these under franchise model as LCO cities. Here installation and maintenance is done by LCO. While bandwidth, equipment, billing(prepaid) is done by Airtel itself. Airtel even updated its FAQs on website to show installation related charges.
LCO charges Rs.2000 for installation however these waived off on 6month or 12 month advance rentals. Though separate mention of Rs.1000 install charges is there.
Plans are as follows:
- Prepaid @ 16 Mbps per month ₹599 FUP 100GB
- Prepaid @ 40 Mbps per month ₹799 unlimited
- Prepaid @100 Mbps per month ₹1099 Unlimited
- Prepaid @300 Mbps per month ₹1599 FUP 600GB
Airtel is following Bsnl model of offering FTTH via LCO franchise model. Bsnl though offer it via postpaid model instead of Airtel’s prepaid.
