Starting today aka 8th Jan 2020 Airtel Vowifi Service or Wifi calling service is available in 4 more states. Now total 14 circles out of 22 telecom circles got Airtel Vowifi service support. These include Delhi NCR, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, UP(West), Maharashtra, Mumbai, Kolkata, UP (East), Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh
Here it may be noted that one must have home circle of their Airtel sim from the circle mentioned above as it doesn’t matter where you are in India. So Airtel HP sim won’t support Vowifi calling whether the caller is latched even to Airtel Delhi network. So service need to be launched in your home circle.
Also feedback from users on twitter suggest that Airtel Vowifi service is now working for all broadband wifi service not just Airtel broadband as previously reported. This takes away the only advantage Jio Vowifi had over Airtel Vowifi. Airtel was the first mover and has service active in more no states than Jio which has service active only in 6 states(3 official, 3 unofficial) though it worked with all broadband wifi from day one.
