HDFC Diners Club Privilege Credit Card Review

HDFC has launched a new credit card to replace its existing premium credit card. One needs 12lacs ITR or 1lakh in hand salary to apply for this card. Existing Hdfc credit card holders need 3lac limit and more than 1 year old card to apply for this credit card upgrade.

Benefits include complimentary one time annual membership of below service on payment of annual fees of Rs.2500 or annual spending of Rs.4,00,000 which leads to both reversal of fees and renewal of below membership.

Earn 4 Reward Points for every Rs. 150/- retail spends (not on fuel, gst, credit card charges). Where 1 Reward Point = 50 Paise for booking of flights , hotels on Hdfc smartbuy portal. Or 1rp = 1airmile for airlines like vistara, air India, Singapore air, British airways etc. So total of 1.33% back.

Milestone benefit of Rs.500 voucher every month if you spend Rs.40,000 in a calendar month. Which is a 1.25% extra. So if you reach 40k spending every month reward comes to 1.33+1.25=2.58% which is a very nice level. Add 10x reward promo and you are getting best reward rate of the country.

Other benefits include 12 complimentary airport lounge access to 800+ Diner Club lounges in India and worldwide. Both domestic and international are included in this 12 and can be used with same credit card itself. These 12visits can be shared with addon card also.

Low Foreign Currency Markup fee of 1.99%+gst. This is a good rate than usual 3.5% though diners exchange rates are on little higher side in comparison to mastercard.
