Vodafone 4G network appears and disappears in Delhi

Vodafone launched announced 4G network in Delhi on 3rd march 2016. During launch the network was available in Gurgaon only. Vodafone said it would expand to the complete coverage in 4 phases. No specific dates were given.

On visiting vodafone store for 4G sim exchange executive doesn’t has a clear reply “in 10-15days saarrrr”. The place where I reside vodafone 4g network started appearing by 20th Feb however again disappeared by 22nd Feb. Even for 2days between 20-22feb when network was found the speed was dismal to call it 4G. It appears Vodafone doesn’t have fiber backend ready for real 4G speeds to happen and still is depending on microwave for bandwidth feed.

Despite the press release in Aug-oct 2015 that 4G would be launched by Dec 2015 Vodafone further delayed it to Feb 2016 which was again not a full fledged launch.
And now after almost a month of launch Vodafone 4G network hardly marks a presence in delhi ncr and I am sure same would be fate for other states also.

Update 09 march 2016: it’s back now.
