Idea cellular has launched new combo plan similar to prepaid. However it’s claim of free local+std calls is again limited to just 3000mins per month which is even lower than prepaid 5000mins limit on unlimited Rs.348 recharge. Even the free 1GB data to postpaid user is night data valid from 12am to 6am while prepaid is anytime 4G data.
Postpaid user are further at disadvantage as they have to pay 15% service tax over Rs.349 monthly rental. All is all in this new era of Indian cellular combo plans Idea Cellular is one operator to avoid. Firstly FUP should not be there when plan is mentioned as free or unlimited. Secondly if FUP should be in seconds not minutes as many small traders make many small call of less than a minute for whom this 3000min limit may be too less when they actually would be talking less than 1500 minutes. No free sms is another drawback compared to Jio plans.
