Jio has 168+ 4G towers functional in the Leh Ladakh region and they are growing day by day.
Remote areas of Ladakh like Chushul,Demchok, Drass, Durbuk, Khalsi, Kharu, Nubra, Nyoma, Panamic, Shargole, Sankoo, Taifsuru, Tharuk, Zanskar & Siachen base camps are covered by Jio 4G network.
Jio is using 3 fiber routes for tower connectivity to build redundancy. Leh-Srinagar fiber route, Leh-Manali fiber route and lastly Leh-Gurez fiber route. So at any time if two fiber link goes down still the connectivity would be there. Which is a first from a cellular provider in the harsh hilly terrain of Leh Ladakh.
For customer coming to Ladakh from India need to either bring postpaid sim card or bring their Voter Id card, Aadhar Card or passport for new local sim card for connectivity within the state as your prepaid sim from Jio,Airtel, Bsnl or Vi won’t work here.
