Idea has updated it’s ultimate plan offers with additional data for 12 months. Ultimate plans were launched in start of 2017 with unlimited calls but very small amount of data. A half hearted attempt by Idea Cellular to take on Jio.
However now they are updating it for better though still less generous than Jio plans. 
Rs.349 Ultimate plan now offers
- Unlimited local+std calls
- Free incoming while roaming nationally
- 1GB data data post which 2p/41kb
- For 4G handset users 4 GB data/month till next 12 months
- For new or MNP customer with 4G handset additional 500MB data per month
So one gets 5.5GB data with unlimited local + std + incoming roaming calls in this ultimate 349 plan.
No free sms is included with sms rate of local/std/isd – Rs.1/1.5/5 respectively.
Note: Maharastra users get 3000 free sms but 500MB + 4GB offer is missing.
While national roaming 80p /min for local 1.15/min for std calls and sms charge of 25p/38p/Rs.5 for local/national/isd.
As this is postpaid so one needs to pay addtional 15% tax on Rs.349. So final bill for Rs.349 plan comes out to Rs.401.35.
Now compare it to Idea prepaid plan of Rs.346/347/348 (vary with states) one get:
- 1GB per day data for 4G handset users = to 30GB – in comparison to 5.5GB of postpaid
- Unlimited free std+local calls+ free incoming roaming calls – same as postpaid
- Rs.349 no additional tax – Rs.401.35 in postpaid
