Bsnl is expected to launch a new voucher within Rs.145 to Rs.149 range which would give free unlimited local and std calls + 300MB data + 100 sms with 28days validity. Bsnl chairman promised that his tariff would beat Jio tariff by Rs.2-4 on monthly recharge so as expected new voucher would be Rs.145 to Rs.149 range which is lowest Jio tariff recharge with unlimited free voice calls.
We are not sure why Bsnl is yet to launch this tariff plan when Jio has started MNP and is poaching away Bsnl subscribers. This Rs.145-149 voucher could do wonders to stop existing Bsnl subscriber to port away.
Problem is while Jio is using advanced VoLTE technology to carry over voice as data Bsnl is using legacy circuit based 2G and 3G for voice calls. When Bsnl network is already overloaded with calls drops and non connectivity problems how would it be able to maintain network congestion when voice traffic would be many times the current load? Maybe it’s building up capacity to be prepared when launches payed service. Good times ahead for Indian mobile users.
