Airtel 4G has launched Vowifi or wifi calling for it’s Airtel broadband users in 3 new circles. 3 states and 2 metros are included in these. So now total 3 metros and 3 states have VoWIFI within a pan of 20days. We expect country wide availability with 90days.
Also Airtel has added Samsung M20, Samsung S10e, Samsung S10, Samsung S10 Plus & One plus 5 series and One plus 6 series in wifi calling supported handsets.
Here it maybe noted that most VoLTE supporting handsets already support VoWIFI via a software or carrier update. However it still depends on handset maker whether it co-operate with carrier for software update or not. Like old pixel series still doesn’t support VoLTE in India.
In another report Airtel has added record no subscribers in current quarter.
