According to some users Vodafone has started providing Fixed line + broadband service in India. We are not sure what technology is being used to provide this service. Vodafone recently acquired You broadband which is a major broadband service provider in Mumbai(Vodafone top market) so maybe it’s fiber+voip based service or maybe Vodafone using it’s own fixed line network. Another possibility is to use Airtel fixed line service if they have agreement for that.
Plan being offered is of 699 or 700 rupees per month with 20mbps speed till 80GB and 2mbps post 80GB + free unlimited calls to any network of India. This service is available in limited areas for now.
On checking Vodafone India website Vodafone seems to provide fixed line however only to enterprise customers for now. Maybe sensing increase competition on combo mobile + fixed bundles being provided in coming days by Airtel(on it’s vfiber network) and Jio (pure ftth network in launch stage) made them to prepare for fixed broadband also.
World over bundles are being sold with fixed (BB+voice) + Mobile + TV in one service. Vodafone is also selling fixed line service in many other countries(like UK, NZ etc) changing it’s track from pure mobile service provider to total communication provider.
