Idea has launched a new Rs.179 STV for which it is heavily advertising on TV, Print media, street banners, online etc.
While Jio Rs.149 is the only entry level prepaid plan which is unchanged targeting it to low end users. While Rs.301 was increased to Rs.309 with change in validity and other benefits.

- Idea plan’s biggest drawback is that you need to recharge from idea website or app else validity is just 3 weeks.
- Jio’s biggest disadvantage is requirement is 4G/VoLTE handset requirement while Idea offer can be used on any type 2G/3G/4G handset.
- Jio’s 4G only network is also it’s advantage as one would never be far from good speeds.
- 2G network of Idea or any other operator is hardly usable nowadays given how data heavy web2.0 is.
