Mobikwik recently introduced this new feature where you can auto recharge your prepaid mobile at fixed interval you like (7days to 30days). Though there always has been an option of Auto payment of postpaid bill but none existed for prepaid recharge atleast in India.

This is best way to avoid your monthly unused quota of 2G/3G/4G data from expiration. Currently if you recharge within the validity of data expiry all operators like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Tata Docomo, Bsnl, Aircel except Mtnl(from another planet) allows carry forward of data to next meaning this months data add to data new recharge.

Problem is not all operators send reminder sms for data expiry. Even if send the sms then also the exact moment that sms is received or read it mostly happens that we are so very busy in something very urgent that we ignore it or put it for later tasks to forget it later. And next day we bang our head for the forgotten recharge reminded by popup on screen about data being charged at rip off casual rates. As in case we also saves money with auto recharge as neither a single time or day we are charged at casual rates for data.

While doing auto payment in postpaid is not a good idea because you never know what your bill would be however in prepaid it’s a not a problem as recharge amount is set by you every time and it is fixed every time.

How to use Auto Recharge option in mobikwik wallet app?

  1. Sign up for mobikwik wallet
  2. click on my wallet tab(bottom right) in mobikwik app.
  3. On account tab scroll down to bottom
  4. click on setup now for auto recharge/pay bills.
  5. You can select the duration for 7,15,28 or 30days

Though this option is available for both postpaid and prepaid however I won’t recommend for postpaid to everyone.
Also you need to maintain balance in mobikwik wallet for this to work, so make sure balance is there when next recharge happens.

Cancellation of auto recharge is also very easy in mobikwik app.

There is another option to maintain balance in mobikwik wallet automatically where credit/debit card is charged on daily basis if your balance is below the amount set by user. You can take the advantage of that also.

I think paytm introduced paytm automatic a long time back which offered similar auto recharge facility however they closed this feature without any warning or explanation.
