Vodafone has rolled out VoLTE on it’s 1800mhz 4G network. Network roll out is limited to 3 circles of Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat.
However biggest limitation is it currently works on very few handsets – none of the iphones!!
Apparently Vodafone wants to test out VoLTE on each handset before roll out and this involves handset manufacturer involvement which includes roll out of updates relating VoLTE testing required.
Anyway still better than nothing!
Here is the list of handset supported during launch
- Samsung Galaxy – C9 Pro & J7 Nxt
- Xiaomi – Redmi 4 , Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2
- Huawei Honor – View 10 , 9i, 7x & 8pro
- Nokia – 5 & 8
Jio VoLTE was first introduced in 2016 nationwide and Airtel in 2017 in selected circles. Now Vodafone has launched in 2018 let’s see when Idea follows. Ofcourse Bsnl need 4G first to think about VoLTE.
