Yes Vodafone Rs.345 , 346 , 347 ,348 ,349 recharge with unlimited local & std calls + 1GB daily data is valid even on 2G & 3G handset users. Still better to check with customer care or *121# to check whether offer is there. Launch is limited in few circles for now.
Good news specially for 3G handset users who were not getting any offer with 1GB or 500MB daily offer. As incumbent take 3G handset owners as zero risk customers who can’t latch to 4G network. So no offers for them till now.
However after the Jio phone announcement Vodafone/Idea are at most risk. As most as most of their steady revenue is still from 2G/3G customers. Their 4G network is neither that wide nor with the capacity(missing 2300mhz band) to gain 4G smartphone customers.
But Jio phone will put them on risk of using these voice only 2G customers & 3G customers who are still waiting to change handsets.
Good thing Vodafone is first to start this. I think Idea will follow for sure. Airtel can afford to wait a little more but ultimately it also would.
